skin tags & warts

Wart & Skin Tag Removal

Warts and skin tags are common, benign skin growths that can become uncomfortable, irritated or cosmetically unwanted. At The Adare Clinic, our doctors provide safe, medically guided removal using techniques designed to minimise discomfort and support optimal healing. Whether you are dealing with a persistent wart or a skin tag that catches on clothing or jewellery, our approach prioritises accuracy, comfort and medical safety.

What We Treat

We treat a full range of benign skin growths, including common warts, plantar warts, recurrent or treatment-resistant warts, and clusters of multiple lesions. We also remove skin tags, which are soft, flesh-coloured growths commonly found on the neck, underarms, chest, eyelids or groin. All lesions are assessed by a medical doctor to ensure they are suitable for treatment and that the most appropriate removal method is chosen.

Expected Results

Skin tags typically resolve immediately after treatment. Warts may require staged treatment depending on their depth and duration, but most patients experience steady improvement as sessions progress Because warts are viral in origin, recurrence is possible however, medically supervised treatment significantly improves clearance rates. Our goal is to deliver effective results while maintaining comfort and respecting the skin’s natural healing process.

Medical Safety

All wart and skin tag treatments are performed exclusively by medical doctors in a clinical environment. Any lesion that appears unusual, atypical or unsuitable for routine in-clinic removal will be assessed carefully, and if needed, your doctor will advise on an appropriate medical pathway.

what to expect during your assessment

examination

Your doctor assesses the lesion’s size, depth and location, confirms whether it is a wart or skin tag, and reviews any previous treatments. Warts often require staged management, so identifying the type and resilience of the lesion helps guide the most effective plan.

procedure

Treatment is selected based on the lesion. Cryotherapy for warts, a quick freezing method that targets the affected tissue. Precise removal for skin tags, often performed under a small amount of local anaesthetic for comfort. Prescription treatment may be advised for stubborn warts to support clearance.

aftercare

Most patients return to normal activities immediately. Mild redness or tenderness may occur but usually settles quickly. You’ll receive clear aftercare instructions, including how to protect the area and when to return if repeat treatment is needed.
