C02 laser

introducing

c02 laser

CO₂ laser resurfacing is an advanced skin-renewal treatment designed to dramatically improve texture, tone and overall skin quality. By delivering precise fractional beams of light, the laser removes damaged outer layers of skin while stimulating deep collagen regeneration. This makes it highly effective for smoothing lines and wrinkles, softening acne scarring, improving pigmentation irregularities and tightening lax or uneven skin. Because of its intensity, CO₂ resurfacing offers some of the most transformative results in aesthetic dermatology, revealing fresher, clearer and more rejuvenated skin as healing progresses.

what to expect during your assessment

examination

During your CO₂ laser consultation, your doctor will assess your skin in detail, discuss your concerns and review any relevant medical history. They will examine the treatment areas to evaluate texture, pigmentation and laxity, and determine whether CO₂ resurfacing is the most appropriate option for your goals. A patch test may be performed to ensure your skin responds safely to the laser. Your doctor will also explain how the procedure works, expected downtime, preparation steps and anticipated results.

treatment

During CO₂ laser resurfacing, your skin is thoroughly cleansed and prepared, and a topical or local anaesthetic is applied to ensure comfort. The doctor then uses the CO₂ laser to deliver precise, fractional beams of energy to the targeted areas, removing damaged skin cells and stimulating deep collagen renewal. Treatment intensity is tailored to your skin type and goals. You may feel warmth or a mild prickling sensation as the laser works, and the session typically takes 20–45 minutes depending on the area being treated.

AFTERCARE

Following CO₂ laser resurfacing, your skin will feel warm and appear red, similar to a strong sunburn. Your doctor will provide specific aftercare instructions to support healing, which typically include keeping the skin clean, well-moisturised and protected. You may be advised to use soothing ointments, avoid picking or scratching, and stay out of direct sun exposure. Strict daily SPF is essential to protect the newly treated skin and prevent pigmentation. Redness and dryness gradually settle as fresh, healthy skin emerges.
